Jaya has spent decades on the front lines of cybersecurity. Alongside her leadership roles as CISO, she has contributed to global security initiatives, advised organizations, and supported collaboration across the cybersecurity community. What has kept her motivated throughout that journey is the mission behind the work.

But after years of protecting large organizations, she began asking a more fundamental question: why are we still failing at cybersecurity despite decades of investment, tooling, and expertise?
The Cybersecurity Problem We Still Haven’t Solved
According to Jaya, the industry has spent years improving detection, scanning and monitoring, but the real issue lies deeper. Most organisations already know where many of their vulnerabilities are. They just don’t have the resources to fix them.
“The truth is that most CISOs have backlogs of vulnerabilities that are far past their due date. We’ve been scanning everything for ages. We’re not fixing them.”
Those vulnerabilities accumulate into technical debt, quietly expanding the attack surface of modern systems.
“If we keep building new things while old vulnerabilities are present, we are creating our own attack surface.”

From CISO to Founder
After leading security teams at multiple global organisations, Jaya realised the problem wouldn’t be solved by adding yet another detection tool.
